Searching for titles

Searching for films on Rakuten TV is easy. All you have to do is to enter the title (or keywords from the title) of the film you want to watch in the search bar located in the upper right-hand side of the web page.

You will also be able to see that our selection of films is divided into different categories. When you scroll over the “Movies” tab at the top of the screen, a drop down menu will appear where you will see film genres as well as the special collections.

48 hour rental

There are two options which enables you to watch the content offered in our service. You can either rent an item or buy it. For contractual reasons with our distributors, some films are available only to rent, while others may only be available to buy. However, normally we offer both options.

If you choose to rent a movie, it will be available in your Library for 48 hours starting from the moment you confirm the rental. You are now free to watch the movie instantly as many times as you want within the 48 hour rental period. The “Library” button is located in the upper right-hand corner of the home page and it is visible only while you are logged into your Rakuten TV account with your username and password.

Buying films and unlimited viewings

Buying a films you will be able to access the content by streaming during an unlimited period of time, as long as the rights are still available for Rakuten TV and with no limit as to the number of viewings.

In addition, Rakuten TV may provide only for selected content a download option in which case the compatible devices will be expressly indicated next to the content.

If, for any reason, the content you bought is going to be withdrawn from our service, we will notify you in advance and we will offer a possibility to download it and keep a permanent copy on your device.



The TV series and films you have rented or purchased become available on any compatible device paired to your Rakuten TV account. All your content is accessible in your Library regardless of the platform where you made the purchase or rental.
